Week 1 MLB Power Rankings: 26-30

Last Week: 29. Atlanta Braves . 30. player. 17. The Braves have started like many expected as they sit with the Twins as the two teams still looking for win number one. In their defense, they did open with games against the Nationals and the Cardinals. Either way, not a good start of what will be a losing season.. 0-5

player. 127. Opening the season with a 15-0 loss at home pretty much gives the expectation that the season might be rough. Getting swept at home against a very good Dodgers team isn’t a huge deal but it was the way they did it. Didn’t score a single run and gave up 25. Their offensive explosion at Coors field withstanding, this is going to be a LONG season.. 2-4. Last Week: 27. San Diego Padres . 29

Philadelphia Phillies . 28. player. 6. Taking 2 out of 3 on the road against the Mets is impressive. Getting swept on the road versus the Reds is not. What we saw in week one is most likely to continue throughout the year, many ups and downs. Let’s hope that winning a series versus the Mets isn’t the highlight of the entire year. Either way, up two spots in the rankings is a move in the right direction.. 2-4. Last Week: 30

108. Trevor Story has been the “story” of the season for the Rockies as he continues to make history. Not only did he become the first player in major league history to homer in his first four games, he hasn’t stopped hitting them since. This isn’t a very good team as a whole, but at least they are hitting some long balls.. 3-3. Last Week: 26. Colorado Rockies . 27. player

Minnesota Twins . 26. player. 2. One of the biggest early season drops belongs to the Twins, who many considered a potential sneaky team in the AL Central. So far the bats have been ice cold maybe due to the cold weather. They head home this week to look for their first win and get on the right track.. 0-6. Last Week: 20
