Detroit Red Wings at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 1: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
The Detroit Red Wings start their series tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Tampa as they look to avenge last year’s playoff loss.
For the 25th straight season the Detroit Red Wings are in the playoffs but, like they’ve been the last couple years, they are underdogs to win the Stanley Cup.
This series according to ESPN is expected to be a long one. Although seven of the ten people picked the Lightning to win the series, all ten of them picked the series to go at least six games.
I picked the Red Wings to win the series in six games. Something that I wonder though is what Red Wings team will we get?
The New York Rangers were missing most of their star players on Saturday and the Red Wings still lost, but the Red Wings, against the Philadelphia Flyers last Wednesday, played arguably their best game.
If they play like they did last Wednesday, they could beat almost any team but the problem lately is they seem to play down to their opponent.
With the Lightning not having Steven Stamkos this should help the Red Wings defense and goaltending. But the Lightning still will have Red Wings killer Tyler Johnson sometime during this series, perhaps even tonight.
As of this writing no starting goaltender has been announced for the Red Wings. I personally think it should be Jimmy Howard. I think he has done enough to win the job back from Petr Mrazek who I still believe is injured.
Here is the information for tonight’s game:

The Red Wings need to win at least one in Tampa and come back to Detroit 1-1. In my opinion I think the Red Wings win game 1 just like they won last year. My guess 2-1 Red Wings.
