Detroit Red Wings at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 2: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
After losing Game one 3-2, the Detroit Red Wings look to even up their series tonight. The Red Wings need to win tonight to steal home ice.
The Detroit Red Wings lost a tough game on Wednesday night in Tampa. The Red Wings lost 3-2 in Game 1 against the Lightning in what’s shaping up to be a very physical series.
Nikita Kucherov got the scoring started and ended up with two goals for the game. Mike Green and Justin Abdelkader would score two minutes to take the lead in the second.
The lead lasted less then ten minutes as Nikita Kucherov scored to tie it. Nearly halfway thru the third Alex Killorn would score the winner on Jimmy Howard to lift the Lightning over the Red Wings.
After losing Game one, the Red Wings look to salvage a split in Tampa. The Red Wings didn’t play poorly on Wednesday in Game one and Jeff Blashill hopes the effort carries over to tonight.
No starter has been announced yet but I would be surprised if the Red Wings put Petr Mrazek in net instead of Jimmy Howard. Although in my opinion it doesn’t really matter who is in net for the Red Wings, with Gustav Nyquist and Henrik Zetterberg in massive slumps the Red Wings need to find some goal scoring elsewhere or hope these two wake up.
Zetterberg has only scored once in his last 25 games, Nyquist is in a similar type slump. No matter how well Howard or Mrazek play tonight if the Red Wings can’t score they won’t win.

Coach Blashill hinted at some lineup changes for tonight and personally I hope he puts Brendan Smith in the lineup tonight. Smith has been a very underrated player for this team and he deserves a shot.
