Week 2 MLB Power Rankings: 1-5

player. 31. The Giants are coming off a 2-4 road trip where they struggled a bit to keep pace with the high-powered Rockies and had trouble with a few Dodger pitchers. They still sit at 7-6 despite seeing the Dodgers 7 times in this young season. The D-Backs, Padres, and Marlins are next on the schedule which should kick off a win streak.. 7-6. Last Week: 4. San Francisco Giants . 5

9-2. Last Week: 9. Washington Nationals . 4. player. 90. A big 5 spot jump this week for the Nationals who are off to an impressive 9-2 start. Maybe the weight of expectations last season was too much out of the gate as they seem to be doing what many expected they would last year. <a href=

Last Week: 8. Los Angeles Dodgers . 3. player. 71. The Dodgers showed a little bit of championship pedigree this weekend giving the Giants all they could handle. <a href=. 8-5

7. We saw a very rare slip up by the Royals bullpen in Oakland, something that has become such a strength for this club. It’s nothing to be concerned about in the long run but interesting as this bullpen is nearly bullet proof. The Royals sit at 8-4 in the early going and still haven’t seen a few guys really get going behind the plate (Morales, Cain, Moustakas).. 8-4. Last Week: 2. Kansas City Royals . 2. player

9. The Cubs will hang onto the top spot as they have done nothing to this point that would give us a reason to doubt them. Jake Arrieta has amazingly lowered his ERA from last year’s spectacular season. The bats went a little cold during this weekend’s homestand, but shouldn’t stay down for long. A big series at St. Louis will give us a good glimpse of where this team really stands following this week.. 9-3. Last Week: 1. Chicago Cubs . 1. player
