Third Round

Ronald Blair is a familiar name having appeared in a previous version but he’s been moved up to the Lions’ third round pick this time around. He was probably underrated previously and one thing this series has shown is just how thin the defensive end class is in this draft. It just seems like every defensive end pick at all levels of the draft comes with a certain “meh” factor.

That could actually work in Blair’s favor as a thin class means some guys could come off the board earlier based on team needs. The Lions are one such team that could feel compelled to grab a pass rusher they like a little earlier than they otherwise might for the certainty of it.

The third round might be early for Blair but it isn’t totally out of the questions that he ends up a top 100 pick because there is quite a bit to like. He isn’t going to take the league by storm as a pass rusher but he has physical tools and plays with strength and effort to make up for what he lacks in overall speed.
