Seventh Round

There are some many twists and turns a draft can take that there are few certainties. However, there is one certainty in this draft for the Lions and it is that they will select a quarterback somewhere in the seven rounds.

Bob Quinn has already gone on record as saying that drafting a quarterback at least every two years is good business – a big change in mindset for a franchise that hasn’t drafted a quarterback since taking Matthew Stafford first overall in 2009.

This isn’t regarded as a great quarterback draft but that’s OK for the Lions because they aren’t looking for a new starter. That puts them in position to look at a player like Nate Sudfeld who has a ton of physical tools but isn’t ready to consistently put those tools to best use.
