Detroit Lions Draft 2016: Seven-Round Mock Draft
By Erik Schlitt
Matt Judon racked up the stats at Grand Valley State. In 2015, he had 20 sacks (led the NCAA), 23.5 tackles for loss, 81 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries on his way to winning the Gene Upshaw Award as division II top lineman.
Like Hargrave in round two, Judon is an athlete who runs faster than he should for his size: 4.73/40, .2367 faster than the average for his size (6’3″ 275). His Explosion numbers are above average as well, with a total score of 74.08. With those measurements it will give a team confidence that his production at the college level was no fluke.
Judon has met with the Lions at the combine and at a local workout. With his versatility and depth needed at defensive end, if he’s there at pick 111, this will be an easy decision for Bob Quinn to make.
