A Detroit Lions Offensive Line Prospect For Every Round of the NFL Draft
By Eli Kaplan
The Detroit Lions have many question marks along their offensive line. In the draft they could select a lineman early, middle, late, or all of the above.
Many Detroit Lions fans are worried Bob Quinn has done little to upgrade the offensive line this offseason. They could stand to improve at the left tackle, right tackle, and center positions, and Lions fans are nervous after free agency netted no new starters to their offensive line.
Questions abound: When will Riley Reiff be replaced as the merely adequate starting left tackle? Will he be more effective starting right right tackle? What about Michael Ola on the right side? How long do we have to watch Travis Swanson underwhelm at center, making us long for the days of Dominic Raiola?
Of course Bob Quinn has a plan, and he’s sure to address the offensive line in this draft. The question is when. What round will Quinn draft an offensive lineman?
The easy answer is the first or second round. But things aren’t that simple. The Lions have many needs in addition to their offensive line, including safety, linebacker, defensive end, and defensive tackle just to name a few.
What does that mean? Realistically Quinn could draft an offensive lineman, one or several, at any point in this draft. That being the case, let’s take a look at seven offensive lineman the Lions could possibly draft – one for every round of the draft.
