Shortstop: Michael Hollimon

Years with Tigers: 2008
Batting line: 25 PA, .261/.280/.565

Michael Hollimon was the rare player to make a positive impact in non-September games and not get another opportunity. He was called up to the major league club in June of 2008 after Ramon Santiago hit the disabled list with a separated shoulder.

He appeared in ten games that year, started in six of them, and knocked four extra base hits in 25 plate appearances, including a home run.

Hollimon finished the season in AAA but was sent to AA for the 2009 season and was released by the club ahead of the 2010 season. He played independent ball for a year before catching on with the Minnesota Twins for two more seasons of minor league baseball. He would never again reach the major leagues.
