Third Base: Brent Dlugach

Years with Tigers: 2009
Batting line: 3 PA, .000/.000/.000

As far as I can tell, Brent Dlugach is one of only two players in the last 10 years to have both (1) received any number of plate appearances for the Tigers and (2) never start a single game (the other being Daniel Fields).

Dlugach earned a September call-up in 2009 to fill a utility infield role down the stretch. He appeared in five games that season, all off the bench, and struck out twice in three trips to the plate.

Dlugach spent all of 2010 in AAA before being traded to the Boston Red Sox for a player to be named later (generic pitcher Pedro Perez) following that season. He spent one year in AAA for the Red Sox before re-signing with the Tigers in 2012 on a minor league contract. That would be his final year in professional baseball.
