MLB Power Rankings: 1-5

3. The Mets took care of business the past week pounding both the Braves and the Reds, teams they should be able to feast on. Their early season cold streak seems a distant memory as their bats have more than woke up. <a href=. 16-8. Last Week: 5. New York Mets . 4. player

Last Week: 8. Pittsburgh Pirates . 3. player. 4. The Pirates had their 6 game winning streak snapped Sunday but have rattled off 8 wins in their last 10 games. They currently lead all of baseball in team batting average with a lineup featuring 8 hitters batting over .300. The power numbers haven’t quite been there but it won’t matter if they continue to put the ball in play like they have been.. 15-11

Last Week: 2. Washington Nationals . 2. player. 90. The Nationals kicked off a 10 game road trip in fine fashing taking all three games at St. Louis. They now will get to vist both the Cubs and the Royals over the next week. This should be a true test of exactly where all three of these fine teams stand and I am excited to see how it all plays out.. 18-7

Chicago Cubs . 1. player. 9. Not surprisingly the Cubs took it to some of the worst teams in baseball the past week taking series wins against the Braves, Brewers, and Reds. They currently sit 2nd in runs scored and everyone knows how good their pitching staff is. This weekend they will host the Nationals for a four-game set that features the two best teams in the National League.. 18-6. Last Week: 1
