MLB Power Rankings: 1-5

New York Mets . 5. player. 3. Coors Field wasn’t kind to the Mets as they were swept in the altitude and now have a date with the Nationals. This is still a team built for the playoffs with their pitching staff as they are in the top 5 in team ERA and likely will stay there all season.. 21-16. Last Week: 3

Baltimore Orioles . 3. player. 11. No surprise the Orioles sit atop all of baseball in home runs so far this season. <a href=. 23-13. Last Week: 6

Washington Nationals . 2. player. 90. In a league that loves offense, the top two teams in the rankings and in baseball are the top two teams in team ERA proving that pitching still is king. The Nationals have been in a little bit of a slump for them following their series with the Cubs, but haven’t given us any reason to doubt them quite yet. <a href=. 23-13. Last Week: 2

Chicago Cubs . 1. player. 9. Despite what Garret Cole thinks, the Cubs will remain at the top of the rankings for another week. Their offense was solid in two of the three games in the series and they clearly looked like the better team against a solid Pittsburgh squad. Amazingly they lost two games on the same day to a bad Padres team, but have been cleaning up head to head against the other elites in baseball. They remain as the only team in baseball with single digit losses as we approach the quarter point.. 27-9. Last Week: 1
