Several returning Detroit Lions could see playing time decreased next season, but here are five in danger of not making the 2016 53-man roster at all.

Making an NFL roster is hard, but so is keeping a roster spot. Each and every year teams are bringing in new draft classes and signing free agents to strengthen the roster and each addition comes at the expense of someone who was on the team the year before.

It’s never good to see a person lose their job but that’s the reality of life in the NFL, which some stands for Not For Long.

For some Detroit Lions, there is uncertainty as OTAs are underway and training camp looms in the not so distant future. The Lions have new front office personnel in charge and brought in a large ten-player class of players in the 2016 NFL Draft.

That means many jobs will be up for grabs and undoubtedly some holdovers will turn into former Lions as the roster spot they once held goes to someone else. Here are five Lions who were on the regular season roster last season but have their roster spot very much in doubt for 2016.
