The 2017 Elite 11 quarterbacks list was announced today and Michigan Wolverines commit Dylan McCaffrey was among the players selected.

The Michigan Wolverines 2017 recruiting class currently has 13 commitments, including the #1 rated Quarterback Dylan McCaffrey (according to 247 sports composite score). McCaffrey, Valor Christina in Littleton, CO,  committed to the Wolverines last February and has been living up to his five-star ranking.

Over the last two weeks, he continued to showcase his skills at the Elite 11 quarterback camp and on Monday afternoon he landed one of the coveted spots among the finalists.

247Sports caught up with quarterback guru George Whitfield, who works with the Elite 11 camp, and he praised McCaffrey:

"“He was the alpha here the whole weekend,” Whitfield told 247Sports analyst Luke Stampini after the event. “Every kid looked to him and every kid was led by him. There’s no question why he’s so highly regarded.”"

Whitfield mentioned his leadership, so it should come as no surprise that when the camp awards were passed out McCaffrey won the camps “Leadership” award.

Scout Recruiting interviewed Trent Dilfer, who runs the Elite 11 camp, and he discussed Dylan McCaffrey at 10:20 of the video below:

McCaffrey getting such high praise from Dilfer and Whitfield should make Michigan fans hearts beat a little faster as they are two of the premier high school quarterback evaluators in the country.

Scout Recruiting also caught up with Dylan McCaffrey and asked him about his experience at the Elite 11 camp, what he learned, where he needs to improve, and how it it will translate to Michigan.

More from Detroit Jock City

We will have to wait until 2017 to see him in maize and blue, but until then McCaffrey will be an important player recruiter for his class. As he told 247Sports, he has already targeted several players he would like to join him in Ann Arbor, including two five-star wide receivers.

"“There’s a lot of guys,” McCaffrey told Stampini in regards to who he’s recruiting. “Some big ones are (receivers) Donovan Peoples-Jones and Nico Collins. They would help us thrive at Michigan and we would win a lot of games. I tell them that we’ll be having some success the next couple years. There’s no doubt about that. I’m looking forward to getting to know those guys better and to get them on our squad.”"
