Smoke & Mirrors

Of the teams that they won series from in June, only the Blue Jays and Marlins had records above .500 when the series ended. The White Sox were one game over during a free-fall as the Tigers swept them from June 3-5, but were back to even when they took two of three from Detroit a week later in Chicago.

The Royals and Indians were the only two teams that were well over .500 when the teams met, and the Tigers lost six of those seven games by a combined score of 54-27. Ouch.

As was previously stated, it is laudable that the Tigers are able to destroy bad/average teams. In fact, they recently completed three sweeps, including the always tough to earn four-game sweep not once, but twice.

That is very astonishing considering they had only swept a four-game series five times in the last 30 years.
