Detroit Tigers: 5 Prospects to Keep an Eye on

With the core of the Detroit Tigers aging past their prime, these five prospects could impact the team within the next few seasons.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Detroit Tigers are old.
The Tigers are the fifth oldest team in the Major Leagues, averaging an age of 29.6 per player. Their window to win is dwindling as their core of Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, Victor Martinez, Francisco Rodriguez, and Ian Kinsler are all older than 33.
The rise of age is susceptible for concern or criticism when talking about the 2016 Tigers. For the first time in five seasons, this team feels old. Especially after flunking out of the AL Central race last summer.
Every team goes through something like this. A core group of guys distancing themselves from the primes of their careers. While they still may be good ballplayers, they’re not getting any younger.
Fortunately, the Tigers’ front office has options down in the minors. These five prospects are worthy of keeping an eye on, and should be impacting the big league club within the next few years.
