Most Valuable Pitcher – Michael Fulmer
This comes as one of the most pleasant surprises of this Tiger season. Fulmer was a first round pick of the New York Mets back in 2011 and made his way to Detroit in the Yoenis Cespedes trade last season.
Its not really that much of a stretch to say that Fulmer has kept the Tigers in contention and saved this season. Without him the Tigers very well could be spinning a different story at this all-star break, much like the one they did last year.
Fulmer enters the break with a 9-2 record with an amazing 2.11 ERA. He has been even better over his last 7 games compiling a .63 ERA and adding 36 K’s in his last 42 innings pitched. You could argue that he has pitched as well as anyone not named Clayton Kershaw.
