Running Back

1. Ameer Abdullah
2. Theo Riddick

The Lions will feature a heavy running back rotation rather than relying on a feature back but fans should expect to see a lot of Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick. Abdullah saw his workload increase as the season went on last year and should be in line for another bump this season.

While Riddick may also see an increase in carries, it will be his work catching passes out of the backfield and from the slot that will bring the biggest impact to the offense.

It will be the third and fourth running back spots on the depth chart that will have some intrigue in training camp. There is a role for a bigger running back to get somewhere around ten carries per game but who gets that role will be a training camp battle to watch.

Stevan Ridley, Zach Zenner and George Winn are currently on the roster, but Bob Quinn is obviously not settled on that trio as his only options based on reported interest in Arian Foster.
