Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox: Series Game Times, TV Schedule, Live Stream
By Matt Snyder
The Detroit Tigers travel to Fenway Park for a three-game series versus the Boston Red Sox this week.
The Detroit Tigers are saying they’re not going to wade into the trade market as we pull into the final week before the non-waiver trade deadline.
At 51-48 the Tigers remain within striking distance of the postseason, but they’re not so close (and a Wild Card isn’t so big a prize) that it makes sense to deal away from the future for what is probably a fruitless run at the present.
A crazy week in either direction, however, could still prod the Tigers into activity (however unlikely that is). A big string of losses could convince them to sell for the future while a winning streak could convince the front office that a modest buy would be a prudent decision.
All six games this week feature opponents who sit ahead of the Tigers in the Wild Card standings, so ground could be make up (or lost) in a hurry.
The week begins with three games against the Boston Red Sox who sit second in American League East and hold the top Wild Card spot in the AL.
