Top 10 Defensive Backs In Detroit Lions History
Dre’ Bly was drafted in the second round by the St. Louis Rams in 1999. He did not see a lot of starts in St. Louis, although he did get a Super Bowl ring, and signed with the Lions as a free agent in 2003. He immediately stepped in as a starter and went to the Pro Bowl in both 2003 and 2004. He recorded 19 interceptions and forced 12 fumbles in his four seasons in Detroit.
After the 2006 season, the Lions traded Bly to the Denver Broncos for Tatum Bell, George Foster and a fifth-round pick, which was used to draft Johnny Baldwin. Bly spent two seasons in Denver, and one season with the San Francisco 49ers. He attempted a comeback with the Lions in 2010 but was cut before the season started. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
