The Outliers

If you want to know who the perfect person is to run that trick passing play or if you want to put the fastest man on the roster in as your kick returner, this section is for you. The statistical outliers will help you turn that ridiculously fast receiver into a tight end so you can put him in at fullback and run the triple option with him.

I can’t be the only person who has done that, right?

Anyway, ratings outliers!

The fastest guys on the roster are disappointingly slow this year. Darius Slay leads all Lions with a 93 in speed and a few other guys have 90s, but if you are looking for a true speedster, there are none on this roster, although both Ameer Abdullah and Ian Wells have a 95 in acceleration to go with 88 and 89 speed respectively.

There are few players who stand out in one ratings category for the Lions this season. Golden Tate and Theo Riddick have unsurprisingly high agility ratings, at 95 and 94, respectively. Haloti Ngata leads the team in strength with 94. Johnson Bademosi and Wells each have a 95 jumping ability. Theo Riddick is probably the most versatile offensive player the Lions have and his route running (85) is good enough to deploy him in the slot.

Anquan Boldin is your guy if you need an emergency quarterback. He has a 70 throw power, and a 50 short pass accuracy. If need be, he can handle handing the ball off to Riddick and Abdullah while throwing in the occasional short pass and/or scrambling for some yards himself to keep the offense afloat, and he can also run the occasional trick play. Of course, actually deploying him in that situation might take some playbook or roster finagling because wide receivers have not been allowed to sub in at quarterback in previous editions of Madden.

If Matt Prater and Sam Martin both go down, former soccer player Ezekiel Ansah might be able to handle the extra point with a 44 kick power rating, but you might just want to go for it if you face a fourth down.
