TIGHT END

Jason Witten ($5500) Cowboys vs. Giants – You might be thinking to yourself, isn’t Witten washed up and no longer an elite TE? While its true that the past two seasons his numbers were sharply off those of the prior “elite” years, he still caught 77 balls last season. If there is one thing that we know about rookie QB’s, they tend to play it safe and trust in their TE’s and RB’s to complete short passes and play it safe. Witten is priced as the 12th TE this week below guys like Zach Ertz and Gary Barnidge. I think he is about as safe as they get to catch 5-7 passes. If Dak takes a shot with him in the red zone, it could be a great day. The Giants allowed the second most points to the TE position last season.

Jesse James ($4500) Steelers @ Redskins – This is not the reality TV version of Jesse James but the 6’7″ TE weapon that will be used frequently by Big Ben this season. James, also known as the Outlaw, was used heavily in the preseason and showed his red zone ability catching a touchdown in their week 3 game. Much of the focus will be to slow down Antonio Brown, which should open up the middle for James to produce in week 1.

Others I Like – Jared Cook ($5300), Martellus Bennett ($5100)
