Week 1 is now in the books and hopefully you were able to use some of the players I had in my article from week 1. If you rolled out a lineup of Andrew Luck, Spencer Ware, DeAngelo Williams, Amari Cooper, Brandin Cooks, Jason Witten and the Philadelphia defense you likely had an amazing week. Every one of those players I wrote up last weekend.

How did my week go? I had some success as I was on all of the guys mentioned above, but never put together the magic combination to have a huge week. I was profitable, but hoping that week 2 will be better.

It’s really easy to overreact after a single week of football and base decisions on what you saw last Sunday. In some situations, there were some lessons to be learned by week 1. A few that stood out to me that will impact how I play fantasy the rest of the way…

1. The Lions Offense is going to be good. Yes, Indy’s defense was missing a number of key pieces and rolled out a week lineup. However, this Lions offense is built perfectly to pile up numbers no matter what the opponent. I like them a lot again this week against a very average defense in the Tennessee Titans. Both RB’s are going to be on the weekly radar as well as their workload will never get them priced up high enough to not consider.

2. Todd Gurley may not be usable at all this season. He is quite possibly the most talented RB in all of football but is likely going to have a pretty bad season. Case Keenum at QB basically kills any chance for their offense to be a threat through the air. Things aren’t likely to get better when they inevitably hand the ball to Jared Goff.

3. C.J. Anderson will have a huge season. Despite very few people thinking he was a legit option in week 1 facing a tough Carolina D and with Denver using a rookie QB making his first start, Anderson went off for nearly 150 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Denver’s offensive line has been top notch for a number of years now and Anderson is another in a long line of Denver RB’s that will benefit. He should run all over Indy this week as their defense is nothing like the one they just faced in Carolina.

4. Use offenses against the Cleveland Browns. Carson Wentz, making his NFL debut despite hardly taking any snaps in the preseason threw for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-10 win. The Browns realistically could go 0-16 and have little to no shot at slowing anyone down with the defense they have. Joe Flacco is one of the least exciting QB’s in the NFL, but he is on the radar this week.

There were a number of other takeaways from week 1 and you will see those through some of my picks this week as well.

Let’s take a look at week 2 and hopefully put together a list of players as strong as week 1.
