With an effective rookie quarterback and a defense playing at a high level, the Philadelphia Eagles are big movers in week 4 NFL Power Rankings.

A 1-2 start isn’t totally surprising for the Detroit Lions. With two road games in their first three sandwiching a home game against the Tennessee Titans, a 1-2 start was always a possibility. However, the way they’ve gotten to 1-2 after getting a week one win in Indianapolis is troubling.

The final score in the Lions’ week three loss at Green Bay was in line with expectations but it took a second-half comeback to make it respectable after getting blown out in the first half. That has the Lions only the move down in the power rankings again, even after falling following the home loss to the Titans.

It’s a different story for the Philadelphia Eagles and their defensive coordinator, former Lions head coach Jim Schwartz. He has the Eagles D playing at a high level while the offense is executing well, quickly justifying the bold trade the team made up in the 2016 NFL Draft to get quarterback Carson Wentz.

Wins in weeks one and two over the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns could be chalked up to level of competition but then the Eagles jumped all over the Pittsburgh Steelers in a week three rout. Time will tell just how real the Eagles are, but they are big movers up in the Detroit Jock City NFL Power Rankings heading into week four.
