RUNNING BACK

Melvin Gordon ($7600) Chargers vs. Saints – Gordon had a pretty average week last week as many had him as their top RB of the week. The TD he scored salvaged his day and made it respectable, but it was his involvement in the passing game that has me excited about him moving forward. Again, not much else has to be said about the team he is playing. The Saints allowed 217 yards on the ground last week with 3 TD’s. Gordon not only has a chance to run a score in, he also continues to get looks out of the backfield in the Danny Woodhead role for the Chargers. I like Gordon for multiple touchdowns this week as one of the safer RB plays on the board.

Le’Veon Bell ($8300) Steelers vs. Chiefs – It’s finally Le’Veon Bell week as he makes his return from suspension to wreck havoc on defenses. Last season was marked with suspension and injury and this season has started out the same as Bell obviously has an affinity for doing drugs. The fact of the matter is that when he is on the field, he is one of the most productive backs in football playing in a predictable offense that you know where production is going to come from. In his monsters 2014 season, Bell caught 83 passes while also rushing for nearly 1400 yards. He provides a really high floor with his overall ability and workload and can go off any game. I can see why people might be scared off with this being his first game of the year, DeAngelo Williams playing so well in his absence, and a Chiefs defense that can wreck havoc like they did last Sunday. Kansas City is still allowing 123 yards per game on the ground and this is a player that is all but match up proof.

LeGarrette Blount ($7500) Patriots vs. Bills – Blount has quietly been one of the best backs in football through three weeks playing for a team that isn’t necessarily known for sticking with one RB consistently. Its pretty simple really as the Patriots are relying heavily on their offensive line and Blount to chew up big chunks of yards until Tom Brady makes his return. The Bills aren’t necessarily a team that we want to pick on, they are middle of the pack against the run so far this season. However, Blount has received at least 22 carries in all three games and has scored at least 1 TD in each one. He also has back to back 100 yard games. With Brady only 1 week away, look for the Pats to stick to a very similar game plan and pound the rock.

Others I Like – Jordan Howard ($5600), Carlos Hyde ($6800), David Johnson ($8700)
