Returning Starting Position Players

The Tigers will return the entire starting nine from 2016. Lineups next season will likely look very similar to the ones we saw this year.

Catcher: James McCann

First Base: Miguel Cabrera

Second Base: Ian Kinsler

Shortstop: Jose Iglesias

Third Base: Nick Castellanos

Left Field: Justin Upton

Center Field: Cameron Maybin

Right Field: J.D. Martinez

Designated Hitter: Victor Martinez

The only (partial) question mark here is Cameron Maybin, who has a team option in his contract for 2017. The Tigers should pick up the $9 million option with no qualms after his very good 2016 season.
