Week four losses by the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs lead to a shakeup in the top five of this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

Another week, another Detroit Lions and another drop in the Detroit Jock City NFL Power Rankings. That makes three weeks in a row and it’s a disturbing trend that isn’t just about the losses, but who the losses have come against.

The Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears now have two wins between them. That makes them a combined 2-0 against the Lions and 0-6 against everyone else. It could be argued the Lions are still over-ranked this week.

It’s a different story of an NFC North rival as the Minnesota Vikings’ season has been anything but derailed by the loss of Teddy Bridgewater. Sam Bradford has made good on Rick Spielman’s bold move to part with significant draft assets and the defense has made clear they are among the league’s elite.

If not for the defending Super Bowl Champions also remaining perfect on the season, the Vikings would warrant strong consideration for the top spot this week. But with the New England Patriots getting shut out by the Buffalo Bills, the number one ranking was up for grabs and went to the Denver Broncos.

That Patriots loss combined with the Kansas City Chiefs loss opened up two spots in the top five with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks moving into the neighborhood.
