The Minnesota Vikings keep rolling while a Denver Broncos loss paved they way for the Vikings to move into the NFL Power Rankings top spot for week six.
For the second week in a row, we have a shakeup in the top five of the Detroit Jock City NFL power rankings. The linchpin was the Denver Broncos, whose loss to the Atlanta Falcons opened up the top spot and sent the Falcons flying into the top five.
The Broncos loss dropped them from the top spot down to fifth while the still unbeaten Minnesota Vikings have earned this week’s number one.
Closer to home, the Detroit Lions also had an impact on the top five. Unfortunately, it was only as the role of spoiler as they knocked off the previously unbeaten and number three ranked Philadelphia Eagles. The loss to Detroit was partial validation that the Eagles had taken advantage of a soft early schedule, although their convincing win over the Pittsburgh Steelers should not be discounted.
Time will tell how for real the Eagles are, but they are down this week, while the Lions see a modest rise up the board.
