The Detroit Lions did enough to get a week six win over the Los Angeles Rams. Here is a look at what’s being said about the game around the internet.

With their win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the Detroit Lions got themselves back to the .500 mark for the season. With the win, the narrative shifts away from the porous defense that got picked apart by Case Keenum. While the win is nice and ultimately the result the Lions were looking for, that doesn’t erase what Keenum was able to do.

Fortunately for the defense, two key things came out in their favor. They came up with the big play when they absolutely had to – the goal line stand to end the first half and the win-sealing interception – and the Lions offense was able to score touchdowns instead of settling for field goals. The importance of the offense’s play can’t be understated. Both teams were moving the ball at will and the Lions offense would have fallen off the pace if any of the four Matthew Stafford touchdown passes were field goals instead.

But, give credit to the defense for coming up big when they had to. That’s two weeks in a row they put the final mark on a win. But can they start making some plays earlier in games to take pressure off their offense? That’s a big question and how its answer will go a long way to determining whether the Lions’ recent surge to get back to .500 has staying power or if they are in for another lull.

Here is a sampling of what else is being said about the game, both on Detroit Jock City and on the rest of the web.
