Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

A lot of the Pistons core group of players are locked in for at least the next few season, but Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a notable exception. There appears to be mutual interest in KCP staying in Detroit beyond this season, but there also doesn’t appear to be any urgency to getting a deal done. Either way, the Pistons need Caldwell-Pope to have a breakout season.

"KCP is terrific defensively. This might be the year he starts making more shots, which would help them a ton."

Caldwell-Pope is an important player defensively considering there were times during the season last year that the Pistons just didn’t look interested in playing much defense. KCP can increase the defensive energy on the court and is a key component to help keep the opposing team’s top scorer in check.

The wild card for Caldwell-Pope is the outside shot. There are times he looks great and times he looks terrible. With consistent success knocking down shots, the Pistons offense suddenly looks a lot more dangerous.
