I had a few comments after last week’s article about Mike Gillislee. In my intro paragraph last week I spoke about how important it is to monitor injury statuses and to watch the news prior to kickoff on Monday. At the time of writing with that article, LeSean McCoy had been ruled out and Gillislee did look like a easy play in replacement.

Obviously, the reports on McCoy were premature and he ended up playing 3 quarters on Sunday before not surprisingly leaving with an aggravation to his injury. Gillislee ended up getting 5 carries and if you took a shot on him you probably are thinking that I am an idiot.

I will say it again going into this week, injury news and updates are critical to success at this point in the season. Making a quick check before 1 PM on Sunday to make sure the news doesn’t affect any player that you have entered into your lineups.

Week 8 gives us an interesting slate of games as we are in the middle of bye weeks and also have a Thursday and Sunday morning game that we don’t need to worry about when playing the main slate. Of the 11 games on the schedule, only two of them have a projected total of 50 points or more, but I see some sneaky shootouts in the works as well.

Let’s take a look at the picks for this week and make it a profitable one.
