Detroit Red Wings vs. Vancouver Canucks: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
The Detroit Red Wings return home tonight to face the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks and Red Wings both snapped losing streaks on Tuesday night.
The Detroit Red Wings FINALLY won in Philadelphia on Tuesday night. The Red Wings won 3-2 in a shootout but trailed a large portion of the game. The Flyers led 2-1 half way through the third but Andreas Athanasiou scored the tying goal. He was also one of the best players on the ice and scored the winning goal in the shootout.
Even more amazing, the Red Wings won a shootout with Jimmy Howard. Howard once again was very good in net for the Red Wings.
Athanasiou is proving that he’s a top six player and deserves to be up here full time. He has consistently been one of the best players on the Red Wings this season.

One of the issues that was holding Athanasiou’s ice time back was Coach Blashill being way to cautious with him. I think that can stop now. Athanasiou’s speed is a game changer and he deserves to get more playing time.
Tyler Bertuzzi also showed a lot of poise in his first career NHL game. He should get even better as he gets more playing time. This is why I’ve been wanting to see the young guys play more. The Red Wings have a bright future in my opinion but they need players like Bertuzzi, Anthony Mantha, Athanasiou, etc. to play in Hockeytown instead of Grand Rapids.
With the Red Wings facing the struggling Vancouver Canucks tonight it’s important for them to extend that winning streak.
The Vancouver Canucks, after starting the season winning four straight, went on to lose nine straight games. They finally snapped the losing streak on Tuesday after stunning the Rangers. A big problem for the Canucks has been their lack of offense. They currently rank dead last in goals per game with 1.9. During that nine game losing streak the Canucks were shut out four times.
No starter has been named yet for the Red Wings tonight but whoever it is should be in good shape to shut the Canucks down. Here is all the important information for tonight’s game:

With the Red Wings being a borderline playoff team it’s important for them to beat teams that they’re suppose to beat. The Canucks are one of those teams. I think the Red Wings get a win tonight.
