On his 55-yard punt return touchdown: “Well, it was a middle return and there were a couple guys coming down. It was pretty good hang time, but once again our guys did a great job blocking and we know that we’re going to have limited opportunities, but we make the most of it.”
On if he said anything to S Don Carey on the return: “No, you can’t really talk that much down there on the field, but you know, I just try to kind of fake those guys to the right, take it to the left and once I saw the open field try to run as fast as I could.”
On where today’s punt return touchdown ranks in comparison to his punt return touchdown in Week 4 at Chicago: “I think this one’s better than the other one. I believe, I don’t know if that guy ended up touching me, but I felt untouched the whole time. So you know, credit the punt return team for doing a great job blocking.”
On how bad he wanted to make up for his early punt return fumble: “I was thinking in my mind not to press, but you know, it kind of just happened. Obviously, you know, I don’t ever want to drop a punt, regardless of it was going to be a fair catch or what. Just because, you know, it gives the offense the ball back, but fortunately our defense was playing great and they held them to a field goal.”
On if he thought about calling fair-catching his punt return touchdown: “Yeah, I thought about it. It was pretty good hang time, but you know, our guys do a good job holding up. So you know, I just gave it a chance and it worked out.”
On if he’s certain he didn’t call for a fair catch on his punt return touchdown: “I’m 100-percent sure I didn’t call fair catch on that one.”
