Detroit Lions 2017 NFL Draft Watchlist: Utah vs. Colorado

Offensive Line
Left tackle Garett Bolles (#72, Junior, 6’5″, 296) is a sleeper prospect not on many people’s radar yet. A junior college transfer, Bolles played so well in training camp that the Utes coaches felt comfortable moving the incumbant left tackle, J.J. Deielman (#68, 6’5″, 300), to center.
Draft guru Tony Pauline first brought Bolles to my attention:
"I’m told Bolles, who served an LDS church mission and will be 25 years old next May, would consider entering the draft if he receives a first round grade from the advisory committee and many believe he is top 32 worthy."
When you combine Bolles size, technique and mean streak he puts together a formidable package. His troubled past will need to examined further, but his time at Utah will help calm the nerves of most NFL decision makers.
In a year that lacks exciting options at offensive tackle (I currently have none ranked as first rounder’s), Bolles could see this as an opportunity to secure a high draft spot.
Deielman’s season was cut short in October with a lower leg injury and it will be interesting to see how it impacts his draft stock. A three-year starter for Utah, Deielman entered the season as a fringe Day 2 prospect and history tells us he’s likely now headed for day three.
Senior left guard Isaac Asiata (#54, 6’3″, 323) and right tackle Sam Tevi (#52, 6’5″, 305) are experienced seniors who will be looking to put together a nice finish to their college careers, while also hoping to convince NFL teams they deserve a shot at the next level.
