The Detroit Red Wings look to get back on their winning ways tonight as the Dallas Stars come to town. The Red Wings lost to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

The Detroit Red Wings played very well on Saturday night against the best team in hockey which was much better than the last time these two met. Although the Canadiens won, the Red Wings still had some good things to take away from it.

The game was scoreless in the third when Justin Abdelkader got the scoring started. The Canadiens would tie the score about ten minutes later when Brendan Gallagher scored.

In overtime, Alex Galchenyuk scored to give the Canadiens a 2-1 victory. In the last three games the Red Wings got five of a possible six points so I don’t have a lot to complain about with that.

But that game really ticked me off for a different reason. Canadiens defensemen Alexei Emelin is the reason for my anger.

Emelin’s “questionable” hits injured Tyler Bertuzzi and Dylan Larkin. Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader thought the hits were questionable.

Brendan Smith also was injured in this game. Him and Bertuzzi are out at least a month. The Red Wings got lucky with Dylan Larkin as he’s going to be ok.

This is twice now that Emelin has injured Larkin and the Red Wings have been lucky both times that he hasn’t been severely hurt.

Emelin in my opinion, is a dirty player and unfortunately on Saturday, Steve Ott was not in the lineup. When these two teams meet again on Martin Luther King day, Steve Ott better be in the lineup.

I miss the days when Bob Probert, Joe Kocur and Darren McCarty would get even with guys that went after their stars.

That is Steve Ott’s job. Hopefully he plays next time the Red Wings play the Canadiens and he protects the Red Wings stars,

Dylan Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi are way to valuable to this team to lose because of some cheap shot artist.

Tonight, the Red Wings face the Dallas Stars who went into overtime last night against the St Louis Blues.

The Red Wings have had two days off so they should be well rested for this game whereas the Stars maybe tired.

It’s important for the Red Wings to jump out to an early lead in this game. The Red Wings should be well rested tonight.

Petr Mrazek most likely will get the start tonight and Tomas Jurco (remember him) makes his debut tonight.

The Stars have given up the second most goals in the Western Conference and are a minus 16 in goal differential. The Red Wings should score a couple goals tonight.
