Detroit Red Wings All-Time Team and Line Combinations
Brendan Shanahan
In the 1990’s Brendan Shanahan was overshadowed by his contemporaries Steve Yzerman and Fedorov. However, even though he was not the most skilled player on the team, many considered him the be the embodiment of the team’s heart and hustle, and the fans loved him because of it. Though his prime years were spent with the Blues and the Devils, Shanahan spent the bulk of his career with the Red Wings.
Joining the Wings during the 95-96 season, Shanahan immediately saw success with his new team. Shanahan played a major role in three Stanley Cup Championships (97, 98, 02). Shanahan accumulated 1037 points over the course of nine seasons with the Wings.
Currently Shanahan acts as the President of Hockey Operations for the Red Wing’s division rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
