Anquan Boldin

After turning 36 earlier this season, retirement likely isn’t far away for Anquan Boldin. He made it clear he wasn’t considering retirement last offseason, even as he didn’t find a suitor until late July.

He’s been a great fit with the Lions, but signed just a one-year contract. Boldin has played a nice role and it’s not hard to envision him filling a similar role if he was to return on another one-year deal next season. However, it remains to be seen if there is mutual interest in such an arrangement.

Boldin may or may not be interested in going through the rigors of another training camp and NFL season next year. The Lions may be more interested in longer-term solutions in their wide receiver depth chart.

For all that Boldin has brought to the team this season, it would be great to see him back for one more go in 2017, but that is no guarantee.
