Running Back

1st Team: Curtis Samuel, Ohio State (junior)
2nd Team: Corey Clement, Wisconsin
Honorable Mention: Akrum Wadley, Iowa (junior)

Is Curtis Samuel a running back, H-Back, or wide receiver? It doesn’t matter what label you put on him because he’s an offensive play-maker. Incredible speed and quickness in the open field, Samuel could easily hear his name called in the second round (or higher) if he declares for the upcoming NFL draft.

Corey Clement is the Big Ten’s big name senior running back and while he has NFL size and skills his injury history will give teams pause. A between the tackle runner, he’s efficient at choosing the correct hole in the line and can turn the corner when running outside.

Akrum Wadley has split time reps during his time at Iowa and but make no mistake, he is a player who has special skills to succeed in the NFL. While he is still likely a year away from being truly ready, he has a high ceiling, and mirrors several skills of Ameer Abdullah of the Detroit Lions.
