The Detroit Red Wings look to rebound after losing to the Lightning on Tuesday. The Red Wings stay in Florida tonight as they face the Panthers.

The Detroit Red Wings struggles against the Tampa Bay Lightning continued on Tuesday. The Red Wings lost 4-1 and also lost Jimmy Howard to a lower body injury. Detroit has lost all three games this season against the Lightning and the frustration is starting to mount for this team.

Once again, the Red Wings didn’t score on the power play. They have only one power play goal this month and are 1 for 27 on the power play this month. I’ll copy and paste this for you because you won’t believe it but the Red Wings have scored just TWO power play goals on the road this season.

The one thing that’s saving the Red Wings playoff hopes is that they play in the Atlantic. Even though the Red Wings are officially in last place in the division, they’re only seven points back of Boston.

Although, that lead for Boston is expanding. The next four games are big for the Red Wings as each one of the next four opponents ( at Florida tonight, Buffalo Tuesday, at Ottawa Thursday and at Toronto Sunday) are division rivals. Those teams are also very close to the Red Wings in the standings. The Red Wings desperately need to win at least three of the four games.

Tonight, the Red Wings face the Florida Panthers, who have won all three games against the Red Wings this year. Special teams and defense is the reason why this team is in major trouble. If the Red Wings can at least get the power play going that would be a major boost for them.

Petr Mrazek is getting the start tonight and with Howard out for a while, Mrazek is going to have to steal a few games for the Red Wings. Here is all the important information for tonight’s game:
