Highlights Of The Week

Zach Zenner had perhaps the best game of his career on Monday and put the Lions on board for the first time in the first quarter. He picked four total first downs on the ground and through the air during the drive before tying the game with a nice cutback.

There was some controversy around Dez Bryant’s first touchdown catch of the game, as he appeared to grab cornerback Johnson Bademosi’s facemask during the play and some wondered if he maintained control of the ball before going out of bounds after hitting the ground. In any case, the catch tied the game at 21 just before halftime.

Bryant scored his second of two touchdowns by completing his first NFL pass attempt, a ten-yard touchdown to wide-open tight end Jason Witten, on a well-executed trick play.

Andre Roberts had a nice punt return in the second half, but Dallas punter Chris Jones stole the spotlight with a powerful tackle.

Playoff Race Update

It’s pretty straightforward for the Lions now. Detroit can clinch the NFC North and a home playoff game by beating the Green Bay Packers (9-6) next week. If they lose or tie, they can still get a wildcard spot if Washington (8-6-1) loses to the New York Giants (10-5). Pride of Detroit has put together a helpful flowchart that breaks down all of the Lions’ playoff seeding possibilities.
