The Michigan State Spartans will look to recover from Saturday’s loss to Penn State when they visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Wednesday.

The Michigan State Spartans (11-6, 3-1) will look to defeat the Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-2, 3-1) for the second time this season when they meet on Wednesday.

After losing to the Spartans on Dec. 27, Minnesota has bounced back, winning three straight conference games including a 91-82 overtime win over then-#15 Purdue on Jan. 1.

Nate Mason continues to lead the Golden Gophers in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game and shooting 41.7% from beyond the arc, and leads them in assists with 5.7 per game. Jordan Murphy averages nearly a double-double with 10.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Freshman Amir Coffey has stepped up recently, averaging 18 points in Minnesota’s last two games.

Michigan State is coming off a disappointing loss to Penn State on Saturday, which ended a three-game conference winning streak. Miles Bridges has been working his way back into the lineup since returning to action on Jan. 4 against Rutgers. Nick Ward has scored in double-digits in each of his last 11 games and averages 13.8 points per game this season.
