The Detroit Red Wings end the first half of the season tonight at the Joe against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Red Wings have lost three straight OT games.

The Detroit Red Wings head back home tonight to face the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Red Wings have lost three straight overtime games including last night against the Bruins.

The Red Wings actually led 3-2 after the second period, but once again they blew it in the third. Jared Coreau bailed the Red Wings out last night as he stopped 45 of the 49 Bruins shots.

Late in overtime, David Pastrnak got his 20th goal of the season and won the game for the Bruins. Once again the Red Wings just weren’t good enough.

Tonight, the Red Wings face the Toronto Maple Leafs for the second time this season. The last time these two teams played was in the Centennial Classic in Toronto. In that game the Red Wings had to rally from three goals down to force overtime. Tonight the Red Wings look to get two points against the Leafs.

Former Red Wings coach Mike Babcock has the Maple Leafs playing some good hockey right now. The Leafs are 6-2-2 in their last 10 games and would be in the playoffs if the playoffs started today.

With Jared Coreau getting the start last night, it’s possible Petr Mrazek gets the start tonight. Either way the Red Wings need two points tonight.
