Detroit Red Wings vs. Washington Capitals: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
The Detroit Red Wings face the Washington Capitals this afternoon at Joe Louis Arena. The Red Wings are looking to end a five game losing streak.
The Detroit Red Wings face the Washington Capitals today as they look to snap a five-game losing streak. The Red Wings have fallen nine points out of a playoff spot and with the trade deadline coming up in just over a week, the Red Wings have to start looking towards the future.
Nine points back is going to be really tough to come back from, so selling at the deadline will benefit this team for the future. The next two games for the Red Wings are against the Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Things most likely will get worse of them during these two games.
While the Red Wings are the coldest team in the league, losers of five straight, the Capitals are one of the hottest teams in the league. The Capitals have won six straight games and eight of their last 10. Petr Mrazek most likely will start in today’s game for the Red Wings.
He will have his work cut out for him against one of the highest scoring teams in the league. The last time these two teams met, the Capitals beat the Red Wings 6-3.
As I said in that preview, the Red Wings can’t get into a shootout with this team. Hopefully Mrazek steals this game for them.
