Reggie Jackson‘s name continues to swirl in Detroit Pistons trade rumors, this time cycling back to a potential deal involving Ricky Rubio and Derrick Rose.

It’s been a few weeks since a Reggie Jackson-Ricky Rubio deal was the hot Detroit Pistons trade rumor but it turns out that one may not be dead.

Trade rumors involving Rubio and Derrick Rose have popped up in the last couple days but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst indicated that the Pistons could be a third team involved. Windhorst named Rubio and Jackson as the two most likely point guards to be traded at this year’s deadline.

However, Windhorst’s sources tell him the Timberwolves do not have interest in Jackson. That could see Rubio, Rose and Jackson switching teams as part of a three team deal in which Rose ends up in Minnesota, Rubio comes to Detroit and Jackson goes to New York. It would also seem the Timberwolves and Knicks could easily do a deal to accomplish each teams’ goals without the Pistons.

That would just come down to whether or not the Knicks would rather have Rubio or Jackson. Jackson comes with a slightly higher price tag but is signed through 2019-20 while Rubio’s deal is up after the 2018-19 season.

Windhorst went through the Rubio-Rose-Jackson situation in a spot on SportsCenter last night. You can watch the clip below.

Windhorst also mentions a potential deal of Jackson to the Orlando Magic, although that possibility was labeled “unlikely” in a report last night.

Ultimately it sounds like a whole lot of “a lot of different things could happen or nothing at all” rather than anything concrete. If there is any “smoke” in this report to indicate a “fire” it’s that Jackson’s name continues to be out there and Windhorst’s label as one of the most likely point guards to get traded.
