By Matt Snyder
The Detroit Tigers open the 2017 Grapefruit League season today with a spring training game against the Baltimore Orioles. Here’s how you can listen to the game.
Yesterday’s Detroit Tigers matchup against Florida Southern College made for a fun event, but today’s Grapefruit League opener against the Baltimore Orioles will feel more like the actual start of baseball season.
We get real professional players in both dugouts and, more importantly, we get a radio broadcast of the game action.
Evan Woodbery of MLive has the lineup and pitching schedule posted to Twitter. One change is that Omar Infante will start at third base in place of Nick Castellanos due to illness.
Michael Fulmer will get the start for the Tigers with six other pitchers scheduled to throw. Fulmer is expected to throw only one inning as begins the process of stretching out for the season. Tigers fans will be excited to get their first look at favorite pitcher Mike Pelfrey in relief.
Here’s all the info you’ll need to find today’s game on the radio or via MLB Audio stream.
