Third Round

Being related to J.J. Watt is an easy way to get yourself attention but T.J. Watt’s play for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2016 showed he’s much more than just J.J.’s younger brother. His athleticism was on full display at the NFL Combine and he combines that with a high motor that the Lions could sorely use on their defensive line.

Watt was grouped with the linebackers at the combine, suggesting he’ll get the most looks from 3-4 teams looking for a stand up pass rusher, but that doesn’t rule him out for 4-3 teams like the Lions.

Even though the Lions’ greatest positional need is for a closed end to play opposite Ziggy Ansah, they just need more guys capable of getting after the passer regardless of position.

Watt has the frame to add weight if his 243 pounds proves too light as a 4-3 end.
