The Detroit Red Wings return home tonight after a disastrous five game road trip. The Red Wings face the red hot Chicago Blackhawks.
The Detroit Red Wings return to the Joe tonight to face the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks make their final trip to Joe Louis Arena.
The Red Wings are coming off a bad road trip which saw the Red Wings lose their final four games, including a 6-1 loss to the Bruins on Wednesday.Once again the Red Wings had a poor start. The Red Wings fell behind 4-0 after the first period and obviously things never got better.
While the Red Wings continue fighting for a top three draft pick, the Blackhawks are fighting for a division title.
Coming into tonight’s game the Blackhawks trail the Minnesota Wild by one point in the Central Division. The Blackhawks lost last night to the Anaheim Ducks but they’ve still won 12 of their last 14 games.
Jimmy Howard may get the start tonight as he was activated from injured reserve last night and Jared Coreau was sent back down to Grand Rapids. Jimmy Howard has been out since December 20th and was arguably the Red Wings best player at that time.
