The Michigan State Spartans will look to bolster their tournament résumé on Friday as they face the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Big Ten quarterfinals.

The Michigan State Spartans (19-13, 10-8) will take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers (23-8, 11-7) on Friday in the Big Ten quarterfinal on Friday as they look to add a quality win to their tournament résumé.

The Spartans have met and defeated the Golden Gophers twice this season, coming back to win their conference opener 75-74 on the road and following up with a 65-47 win at home two weeks later which kicked off a five-game losing streak for Minnesota.

The Golden Gophers rattled off eight straight wins following that skid before losing their regular season finale at #22 Wisconsin, finishing fourth in the Big Ten and earning a double-bye in the tournament.

Nate Davis leads Minnesota’s four double-digit scorers with 15.5 points per game. Jordan Murphy leads with 8.7 rebounds while also scoring 11.1 points. Amir Coffey averages 12 points per game and Jordan Murphy 11.1 points.

Miles Bridges leads the Spartans with 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds. Nick Ward is the only other healthy Spartan who averages double-digit points, scoring 13.7 points and picking up 6.4 rebounds.
