NCAA Tournament Bracket: Michigan #7 Seed, Michigan State #9
Michigan was given a seven-seed and Michigan State was named as a nine-seed for the NCAA Tournament during the Selection Show on Sunday night.
The Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans are both going dancing after being named to the NCAA Tournament during the Selection Show on Sunday night. The Wolverines will be a seven-seed and the Spartans a nine-seed in the Midwest region of the bracket.
The Spartans will face the #8 Miami Hurricanes in Tulsa, Okla. on Friday while the Wolverines will take on the #10 Oklahoma State Cowboys in Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday.

Michigan (24-11, 10-8) won the Big Ten tournament, winning four games in four days after a scary plane accident on Wednesday and defeating the Wisconsin Badgers 71-56 in the final on Sunday. Michigan State finished their season 19-14 (10-8) after losing to the Minnesota Golden Gophers 63-58 in the Big Ten quarterfinals on Friday.
The Villanova Wildcats claimed the number-one overall seed in the tournament field. The Gonzaga Bulldogs, North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas Jayhawks were given the other one-seeds.
Seven Big Ten teams were named to the tournament, including the Purdue Boilermakers (#4), Wisconsin (#5), Minnesota (#5), the Maryland Terrapins (#6) and Northwestern Wildcats (#8), who were named to their first-ever NCAA Tournament.
By making the tournament this season, the Spartans qualify for their 20th straight NCAA Tournament under head coach Tom Izzo. Michigan will be in the tournament for the third straight time and seventh overall under head coach John Beilein.
The tournament begins with the First Four on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio, as eight teams face off to reach the round of 64. On Thursday the madness begins in earnest as the round of 64 tips off. The first two rounds of the tournament will wrap up on Sunday night, when only 16 teams will be remaining.
