The Detroit Red Wings head to Denver tonight to face the Colorado Avalanche. The Red Wings have lost six of their last eight games.

The Detroit Red Wings face the worst team in the NHL tonight, the Colorado Avalanche. The Red Wings head into three winnable games in the next four days.

Tonight and Saturday they face the Avalanche who have struggled all season and are already eliminated from the playoffs.

Tomorrow night they face the Arizona Coyotes who have the second fewest points in the league. This stretch is good to get wins but this team doesn’t need wins. Right now the Red Wings have the fourth fewest points in the league. Colorado will finish with the fewest points, Arizona probably will have to get hot to pass the Red Wings.

The Devils are only a point behind the Red Wings so it’s very possible that the Red Wings could be in the bottom three of the league. That is were the Red Wings need to be. As I’ve said before this team needs a top three really badly. Maybe they even get lucky with the lottery balls and get the top pick.

The Rangers helped out the Red Wings on Sunday by beating them 4-1. Once again shoddy defense was to blame for the loss. The Red Wings need a franchise defenseman in the draft really bad and this season has really shown that.

Anthony Mantha may actually return to the line-up tonight for the first time in two games, since Jeff Blashill made him a healthy scratch.

Here is all the important information for tonight’s game:
